My AODA training was very easy and informative. With my previous experience in health care, provided an easy transition into learning more about mental health conditions. I appreciate Dr. Hicks and Ms. Sims on structuring a imperative learning enviroment for future AODA counselors such as myself. I would recommend this class to any individual looking to start a career in AODA.
The ease of use as well as the repetition of the 9 techniques are helpful. People can get comfortable with practicing these skills are implement them in their daily lives.

Hi,
I’m incredibly grateful to Dr. Hicks and Loop Well for providing a State-certified learning curriculum that helped me become a licensed Prevention Specialist. Loop Well also gave me the opportunity to gain valuable clinical experience as a Crisis Case Worker, where I was involved in Crisis Assessment, Case Management, and Safety Planning.
I’m excited to share that I’ve been accepted into medical school, Class of 2029! I’d also like to highlight two mental health techniques from Loop Well that I recommend to all pre-health students:
Thank you again, Dr. Hicks and Loop Well, for guiding me on this journey.

The LW exercises helped me to think about the person I am and, the person I want to become. If we want the world to be better and Conditions to change it starts with each of us. Working together in our society is the way to bring about GOOD changes. We must care about issues that affect all people in the world and focus on what we can do to reach desired results. But to start the process we need to know ourselves first before we can begin the journey. LW exercises have given me insight in the right direction. These thoughtful exercises can be used throughout my life.
The Loopwell exercises were very informative, leading to in depth self analysis and reflection as well as inspiring change for the future!

Dr. Hicks is such a great source of wisdom and support. She is genuinely interested in helping individuals (and communities) develop/grow, and I am honored to know her. I am so happy that I signed up for and completed the Pre-Health / Substance Abuse Counselor-In-Training and look forward to continue my growth journey. Thanks Doc!
Loop Well has helped me so much by giving me their knowledge, wisdom, and their heart. I will recommend this program to anyone and everyone, and I have. Keep changing lives.
Dr. Hicks creates an inviting and motivating environment through his Loop Well website. The tone is warm and supportive, making it clear that she genuinely cares about the success and well-being of her students. Overall, Dr. Hicks' website is a fantastic resource for anyone looking to enhance their knowledge and involvement in the community. It reflects her hard work and dedication, and I am grateful for the inspiration she provides. Thank you, Dr. Hicks, for all that you do!
I want to start by saying at this point in my life these exercises have helped me so much. They all have really resonated with me and am grateful for them while on my healing journey. Ì found this exercise to be particularly helpful. I have a problem saying no Especially to people love. I almost always think of other people's thoughts, feelings, emotions, and best interests above my own. I am Just now realizing the toll that has taken on my own self. But I am learning. Setting boundaries for myself and learning that boundaries are for me and not for them has been helping me navigate this new "no” chapter. I will take this exercise and use it as a tool to help me develop myself and my boundaries.
Loop Well exercises are, very insightful and helpful. I tend to already use in my daily life. It seems easier to be positive. When you’re in a negative space in your head it is difficult to Pull yourself out. It is very beneficial in those moments. I liked the idea of making my own video. I have used the app called "I AM" that sends me positive affirmations daily but the video I create in my voice, and what I believe to be true about myself rather than an automated messaging of pre-package words. Also, recording myself in the power pose says lot of things because connected to how you feel about yourself. No doubt when you are getting ready in the morning or looking at yourself is helpful.

My experience with TSI and Loopwell has been, in one word, awesome. I was so unsure of what to expect when this journey began for me. It was challenging, but I felt fully supported through it all. As a person that is still in recovery myself, it was both educational and therapeutic to take this course. The Loopwell questions were thought-provoking and really got me to dig deep and take a good look at several aspects of my life that I had already been addressing in my own therapy. It felt like making discoveries in layers. The course content for assessment, counseling, and case management were detailed, practical, and feel highly relevant to real-world scenarios. Dr. Hicks and Ms. Sims both projected profound expertise and a genuine commitment to my success. Their ability to distill complex topics into understandable modules was fabulous. The focus on professional responsibility and ethical/cultural competence was particularly strong, and I feel very prepared to navigate the complexities and ethical challenges of the counseling profession. The Loopwell platform was straightforward, which allowed me to focus on the content for each week. I also liked the self-paced nature of the course. While there was a syllabus and expected milestones in reading and comprehension, I was also able to balance the other commitments in my life. Overall, anything that I’ve needed or any questions that I had along the way were answered promptly and professionally, which has led to this being what I’d consider a high-quality experience from registration to completion. The greenhouse atmosphere of the learning space was both soothing and uplifting, and a place to look forward to going to each session. This has been an overwhelmingly positive and enriching experience, and I feel exceptionally well-prepared to move forward in the substance abuse counseling field.
